SEAN TAYLOR BAND – BEER GARDENS – FRIDAY AND SATURDAY
SATURDAY, JULY 15TH – GRANDSTANDS (BETWEEN DEMO DERBY INTERMISSION)
The Dufferin Ag Society, Warren McCutcheon and Tyler Russel are organizing a charity truck pull “where you pull the truck”. This will be held in support of Mental Health. Proceeds raised from this event will be donated to The Mood Disorder Association of Manitoba www.mooddisordersmanitoba.ca, Central Region. This non-profit association is dedicated to providing information and support to those living with mood disorders, co-occurring disorders and other mental health illnesses. By increasing public awareness about mood disorders, we can diminish the stigma that’s surrounds it. This organization already has a direct tie to our community, having local meetings in Carman every two weeks, but they are struggling to service those in need. Funding for travel, advertising and educating the public of what services are available and how to access help. All of the proceeds raised will remain and go towards helping our Central Region of Manitoba. Mental Health has impacted our community in a variety of ways for the past decade and will continue to do so.
We are excited to be giving you the opportunity to be one of the 20 teams! Each team will have a maximum of 10 participants and can consist of anyone! Maybe you have a random group of people, a business, or would like to combine with another branch of your business. You enter the team, and we will find you the competition! Wouldn’t you love to show the strength of your team against your local rival? We will approach them, offering the chance to pull the truck down the track, racing against your team. For example: “The Town of Carman VS RM of Dufferin”. Teams will have a chance to pull a Grain or Potato truck the required distance, aiming to get the best time. Two teams will pull down the track against each other, aiming for the best time. The top two teams will square off in the final.
Each team must obtain a minimum of $500 in pledges or sponsorship in order to participate. Tax receipts will be issued by the DAS to individuals or businesses with donations $20 or greater.
Contact Tyler (204) 745-7102, Warren (204) 745-0188 or the DAS office (204)745-2226 for more information or to enter as a team or individual!
